Career Tips

Your transition from student to young professional can be challenging. Getting the job and learning the culture of the organization can be overwhelming. Just because you’ve graduated doesn’t mean that your Mountaineer family isn’t here to help.

Whether you’ve landed a job or are still looking, it’s important that you get out there and network, network, network! Join a local chapter in your area. Many of our chapters offer professional networking opportunities with local businesses in the area. It’s also a great way to get to know fellow alumni and friends.

You can also get connected via WVU Alumni groups on Facebook and LinkedIn. These sites have been helpful in the job search, gaining information and making contacts.

And, just because you left WVU doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of the services provided by WVU Career Services. Through MountaineerTRAK, you can post your resume, search for jobs and make other important contacts as you continue with your search. (MountaineerTRAK is also available via our on-line community for WVUwww.mountaineerconnection.com.

We’ll continue to keep adding to this site—just let us know what you want to see!
