DEFINE YOUNG ALUM

Well, let’s face it, for many of us age is just a number. But for our purposes, we define a “young alum” as someone who graduated 10 or less years ago. Of course, we welcome alumni from all generations to enjoy our site, read the stories of WVU’s young alumni, etc.

We are creating a place where those of us who are just beginning our journey or facing the challenges of transitioning from student to young professional can go to find tips, network with others and use our Mountaineer family to help us along the way. So, in a way, this site is sort of like our map for that!

What is the Young Alumni Advisory Board?

The Young Alumni Advisory Board is an extension of the WVU Alumni Association Board of Directors. The goal of the group is to strengthen the bond between recent graduates and the Mountaineer community. With the support and ideas of our young alumni, we hope to create opportunities for you to keep up with classmates, be active in the life of the University and broaden your social and professional networks. OUR OUTREACH

We unite Mountaineers…

No matter where they may be, we serve as advocates for the University, our alumni and the entire gold and blue community. We are also reaching out to young alums in other ways:

  • We have an app for that! The WVU Alumni Crib Sheet was designed with the young alum in mind. This mobile app will help you stay on top of the latest news, happenings and events, while providing you some basic tips on everything from stocks and life insurance to etiquette and paint (yes, paint!).
  • Moving to a new city? Join a chapter, contact a Mountaineer Ambassador or affiliate group. WVU alumni are always there to help!
